I can’t resist a controversy surrounding Frankenstein.
During the week, Colts owner and twitter whore Jim Irsay was quoted in an earlier interview with less than flattering words about Peyton Manning’s time in Indy. You know the specifics, so I will summarize; WE GOT TIRED OF GREAT REGULAR SEASONS FOLLOWED BY SHITTY POSTSEASONS.
Predictably, the media was all over it (as if NBC needed any more pub for the SNF matchup – you would have thought the DAL – WAS game was the week before the Super Bowl). (more…)

Another NFL season is upon us, so lets take a look at some talking points and projections.
1. The Refs
I won’t bore you with the particulars of the negotiations. You don’t care and neither do I.
What we do care about is the game being officiated competently. Nothing that has occurred during the preseason has me confident that the scabs are going to miraculously become good officials. (more…)

The NBA Finals kick off tomorrow night, and it should be a great series. Hardcore hoops junkies and casual fans alike should find it highly entertaining.
Both OKC & Miami play an engaging style of basketball, and there promises to be plenty of memorable moments.
There are multiple story lines: (more…)

With the initial two rounds of the NCAA Tournament (I refuse to comply with the NCAA calling the 5th through 36th game the “second round”) behind us, here are some of my thoughts : (more…)

Peyton Manning was released by the Colts yesterday. Poor lil fella. Predictably, ESPN led the crotch-nuzzling.
You would have thought he retired, with all the attention he is getting. I heard an ESPN voice (and former QB) say he “deserved better”.
He deserved better? He was paid $25 million this year to play quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts sit on the couch like you and me.
He talked Indy into NOT putting him on IR in September. Instead of a 53-man roster, the Colts operated with a 52-man roster the ENTIRE YEAR. That’s not selfish at all. (more…)

What do Danica Patrick and UConn coach Gino Auriemma have in common? I would say three things:
1) They are all over SportsCenter
2) I had to google them to find out how they spell their names.
3) No real sports fan gives a crap about either of them.
Last year, the 4-letter network’s coverage was over the top comparing UConn’s winning streak to UCLA men’s record.
Hey ESPN – they play with a different size ball. IT’S NOT THE SAME GAME. (more…)

Who won the 2011 NBA title? Was it:
Kobe and the Lakers – no that was 2009 and 2010.
Oh I got it, it was those Spurs led by that all-time great Tim Duncan – sorry, no.
Was it the NBA’s greatest franchise, the Boston Celtics, they won number 18 right? Wrong again.
It was Oklahoma City, led by the league’s youngest star Kevin Durant. No, what the heck?
Oh yeah I almost forgot, it was the Miami Heat – they won the title in July 2010, that’s what almost everyone said anyway. No no no, why I am so confused? (more…)

Yes, you read that correctly.
Courtesy of the always awesome Deadspin, ESPN ran that headline on ESPN Mobile from 2:30 to 3:05 EST this morning. Shortly afterwards, the apology came: (more…)
